Real Talk.

Real Tools.

Real Change.

In-Person Therapy for Men in Denver with a Board-Certified Counselor

If you’re like a lot of men, you’ve probably been carrying more than you let on.

Is holding it all in starting to take a toll?

Your friends and family probably know how to supportively listen. But healing, change, and growth take more than just a compassionate ear.

Therapy is a space to unpack it all, learn new tools, and start feeling more like yourself again.

My name is Mike Garrison.

I wasn’t always a therapist. For nearly 25 years, I worked in high-pressure Fortune 500 roles and later acquired, ran, and successfully sold my own business.

From the outside, it looked like I had it all together.

But inside? Not always.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck…to fight battles no one else can see…to be your own worst critic while still showing up and performing at a high level.

What I’ve learned, both personally and professionally, is this: what you run from follows you. There’s no shortcut and no magic fix. Real change starts when you get honest with yourself, ask for help, and commit to doing the work.

When Things Look Fine…But Don’t Feel Right

You might be someone who’s doing well on paper…but something still feels off.

You’re successful, responsible, and driven. But:

  • You’re constantly in your head, second-guessing decisions

  • Stress, anger, or anxiety show up more than you’d like

  • Relationships feel harder than they should

  • You’re carrying things you’ve never really talked about

  • You’re not sure what’s next but you know this isn’t it

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay there.

Therapy for Men in Denver That Moves You Forward

As a licensed and board-certified counselor, I provide men’s mental health therapy in Denver, working with clients across Colorado through both in-person and virtual counseling.

I help men navigate:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Depression and low motivation

  • Anger and emotional control

  • Trauma and unresolved experiences

  • Relationship challenges

  • Questions of identity, purpose, and direction

While I specialize in men’s mental health, I welcome clients of any gender identity who feel we’d be a good fit to work together.

What Working Together Looks Like

My approach is straightforward, evidence-based, and focused on results. We focus on insight and action so you’re not just talking about problems, you’re actively working through them.

Together, we’ll use proven, evidence-based approaches to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and create meaningful progress, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-focused work, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

This integrative approach is about helping you understand what’s driving your patterns and giving you the tools to change them.

The Next Step

Starting therapy can feel like a big move but it doesn’t have to be complicated.

I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone.

We’ll talk about what you want to work on, I’ll answer your questions, and we’ll decide together if working together feels like the right fit.

If you’re ready to start making real changes, we can take that first step…together.

This is where the real talk happens.

Comfortable chairs, natural light, and zero judgment.

Just a space for you to think, reflect, and move forward.

Cozy counseling office with leather furniture, coffee table, potted plant, and floor lamps near a large window and wall art.

Choosing a Therapist is a Very Personal Decision

Let’s Start with a Phone Conversation.

This phone call is free of charge and will provide us an opportunity to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what it will be like to work together, you can ask any questions that are on your mind and see if I'm the right therapist for you.

Then, if everything sounds like a good fit, we can compare calendars and schedule your first session.
